The trail follows the north ridge of Dry Hollow in the Big Hole Mts. The useable section drops 510 ft. (155m) in almost a mile (1.5 k). It was run for the first time in 2014 by Turboganz and friends in near perfect snow and weather conditions for four exciting days before the weather changed.
It is not the run for beginners, but really fun for the more skilled. The S-turns through the fir and aspen trees, drifts, tree wells and blind turns keep it interesting. We look forward to many years of fun on this one!
We all had Torggler Sportrodels ranging in length from 105-115cm. Wax of the day was Swix violet.
Yes, we all hiked it to earn our slides. The quiet crunch up the trail was punctuated by the chatter of inquisitive chickadees and nuthatches. We'll take that to a motor any day.
